Shiny, narrow 6" dark green leaves with sharply pointed tips are quite upright. Purple flower buds, bright pink around their bases, appear in late summer on 30" stems. These buds never open.

Sterile triploid that does not produce seeds, but can pollenize other hosta species. Very rare in the wild, the species was first identified in 1930, and this variety in 1937.
