About Jing Ming Fen

Soft pink doubles with dark red flares towards the center. Fragrant. Late spring.

Also known as Flare Pants or just Pants. We do not know why. Flare tree peonies (P. rockii hybrids), known as Ziban Mudan in Chinese and named for an obvious flare at the petal base of every cultivar, are very distinct from common tree peonies (P. ×suffruticosa cultivars) both in biology and in ornamental use.

About Peony, Woody

Woody peonies can live more than a hundred years. Once established, you will be rewarded each year with an abundance of beautiful, huge flowers. They are grafted—plant very deeply so the nurse root is too deep to send up shoots and the grafted top part will root itself. They require at least four to five hours of sunlight daily and good drainage with high humus content. Blooms late spring. Deer-resistant. Read more about woody peonies.
