Salvia - Dancing Flame

Salvia splendens
Variety Name:
Dancing Flame

Resembling an unusually vibrant coleus until its scarlet flowers appear in late summer, this sage has dark green leaves liberally splashed with bright gold. Looks best with some light afternoon shade.

It’s an understatement to say this plant stands out in the garden: it is definitely for those of us who enjoy the bold and tropical. Try it with other lime-green plants like the Lime Zinger elephant ear and Versa Lime coleus. A good candidate for topiary.

Garden favorites.
